The long awaited day finally came on Friday 14th October. Former students, graduands and well wishers trickled at the main Campus of Ndejje University in Luwero to finally reap the fruits of their hard work.
Despite the scorching sun and tight security, former students all clad in different gowns waited patiently till the start of the ceremony with a band parade intermingled with endless ululations and cheers. This year, a total of 2,886 Students graduated unlike other years where the number was less. There were 39 students with First class, of these Esther Mirembe emerged the overall Best female student of both Kampala and Main campuses.
The best students emerged from different faculties such as the faculty of Engineering, Education, Business, Information Technology, Arts and Agriculture. Among the graduands was Hon. Zakke Francis who is currently the Member of Parliament for Mityana district and a former vice guild president. The guest of honor was the First Lady Hon. Mrs Janet Museveni, the State Minister for Education among other dignitaries.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Eriabu Lungujjo congratulated the students and asked them to uphold the core values of the university even in their places of work.
