It was all smiles yesterday Monday 3rd October, 2016 as Busitema University held its 7th graduation ceremony at the main campus graduation grounds. There was conferment of Degrees and award of Diplomas and Certificates to over 1014 graduands.
Several students graduated in disciplines of Engineering, Education, Natural Resource Economics and Animal Sciences. It was also the first time for students to graduate in the field of Mining engineering and this the university officials claim could lead to higher employability.
While officiating over the function, guest of honor, the State Minister for Higher Education Dr.Stephen Muyingo implored the students to use skills acquired from the University for the Socioeconomic Transformation and sustainable development of Uganda.
He as well urged them to keep disciplined and be good ambassadors of Busitema University wherever they go. Other guests in attendance included Chancellor Busitema University Prof. Francis Gervase Omaswa and Vice Chancellor Busitema University who doubles as Chairperson UNEB Prof.Mary Okwakol.
Busitema is known for holding all its graduations on 3rd October, due to the fact that it is the day the first cohort of students joined the University way back in 2007.
