Police have confirmed the arrest of a suspected Al-shabab terrorist last evening at Kataza, Nakawa, next to Akamwesi hostel.
Deputy police spokesperson, Polly Namaye says the suspect has been interrogated and screened. The suspect plus others that were arrest over the weekend will be paraded before the media today Monday at Police headquarters in Naguru in a detailed press briefing.
Last evening, a suspected Al-shabab terrorist was nabbed by Akamwesi Hostel security personnel circumnavigating the premises. He was caught with a map of MUBS, something the security officers termed a “terror plot”.
Last week, the Uganda police force issued a terror alert following “credible information that Al-Shabaab had plans to attack schools and education institutions along the Kampala – Jinja high way. Security across the country has been beefed up in the wake of the terror attack on Garissa University College, Kenya where 147 students were killed and others held hostage.
