Fresh details have emerged regarding the identity of a former Kyambogo university student who is suspected to have committed suicide from the named institution.
Uganda police has unleashed data on this sorrowful incident, revealing the identity of the deceased Kyambogo university graduate. According to police, the deceased is a one Brian Wetaka, a former student of chemical engineering who graduated earlier in 2019.
“The police at Kyambogo are investigating a suspected suicide by Brian Wetaka, a former student of Bachelor of science in chemical engineering at Kyambogo university who graduated in 2019 and a resident of Ntinda,” Uganda police commented about the incident in a Facebook post.
Police says it was only informed about the incident by a private guard at the engineering building. The statement also revealed that the deceased left a suicide note in which he said he was ending his life because of stress.
“I have decided to end my life because of stress.” the suicide note reads.
The body of Kyambogo university’s depressed graduate is being kept at Mulago hospital for a post mortem as police investigates the exact cause of his death.
Brian Wetaka was found lying lifeless at North hall on Friday 4th March, 2022. An anonymous source had earlier revealed to the Bee that the deceased was stressed following pressure from parents who were not at peace with the fact that he was jobless despite heavy investment in his education.
