Security at MUBS Nakawa has greatly been beefed up and officially taken over by the Uganda Police after increasing concerns of theft have rocked the Nakawa based university in the passed weeks.
News landing in the beehive, indicates that the University (MUBS Nakawa) has been sealed off from all other activities and those merely passing through by 7pm.
The usual security of the university has been boosted with guns to tighten their security and the Uganda police led by the Police Post OC, Kyasiimire Collins have also manned up to hype the university security.
This was after there has been increasing cases of theft at the University; laptops, computers and many other valuables have somewhat found their way out of offices with the owners consent. This has got the authorities worried about how these things keep on disappearing and has forced them to not only change locks to offices but to also hype up the University security.
Berlin, a girls hall of residence, last week was hit by a theft bug after a 42 inch flat screen went missing from the common room.
“There have been unscrupulous people who are going around using duplicated and master keys to open the offices and make away with valuables. These people disguise themselves as passersbys who are simply passing through campus, noted Kyasiimire Collins OC MUBS Nakawa to Campusbee.
We have sealed off the University from 7pm to 7am and closed the small gate, whoever tries to access the University (MUBS Nakawa) later than that time won’t be allowed unless he’s on official duties, added the OC.
However,Campusbee learns that as the results are on the verge of release, security too has to be tightened to safe guard marks and this is to go on until the semester begins that is almost.
Keep up with the tabs and keep locked to Campusbee for more information.
