Renowned Makerere University lecturer, Ms Amanda Ngabirano who doubles as the National Physical Planning Board Chairperson has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus.

The top university lecturer took to her social media to announce the worrying news following her trip from Lira where she had attended a meeting.

“My sense of smell is back. Now I can enjoy my fish. However I tested positive for COVID-19. I don’t know how we shall survive this virus! It’s allover I guess. I trace mine from Lira. So my dear contacts, please make sure to test and protect your family, friends and workmates,” Ms Ngabirano posted.

“I have no other symptoms so far…and I pray my body successfully fights it as I self-isolate. Let’s do our best to stay safe…the THING IS REAL!!” she added.

This intel comes shortly after Police boss AIGP Asan Kasingye also took to his personal twitter account to announce that he had tested positive for Coronavirus.

So far, Uganda has registered a total of 2253 coronavirus cases, 1199 recoveries and 20 deaths including one that was registered yesterday.
