You have seen them in fancy suits. They have probably come to you asking for your vote. But do you know anything about their private lives? Here are some of the Makerere University student leaders and their better halves.
1. Burobuto Jothan and Charlotte Natukunda.
These two can easily pass off as the Clintons. Both passionate politicians, Jothan (83rd guild speaker) and Charlotte (UNSA deputy speaker) have maneuvered through Makerere politics as skillfully as they have handled their relationship.
Their love story apparently originates from Jothan’s days as Makerere law society president when he was dumb struck by a pretty dimpled fresher named Charlotte. Like they say, the rest is history.
2. Roy Ssemboga and Shamsa
Former Makerere Guild President Roy Ssemboga has had his share of relationships but folks suggest cupid must have pierced his heart with Shamsa’s arrow.
Shamsa is a little known girl that the bald headed former guild president has tried to keep in the shadows and only brought before the public eye at the 82nd guild dinner that was at Imperial royale.
Nonetheless, students from Nkrumah hall where Ssemboga stays say that a mysterious light skinned lady with big pretty eyes never leaves Ssemboga’s apartment.
3. Derrick Aine and Mackline Asiimire
Most students may know this one as just a rowdy guy that beats up students in guild campaigns or just a chief striker. Well it is true, he front lines most Makerere demonstrations.
What they don’t know is that besides having (until recently) been a powerful minister in Makerere’s Nkrumah hall, he also has weak points.
Aine, as he is fondly known, is dating former MUBS vice president and UNSA finance secretary, Mackline Asiimire. The two have recently been getting cosy and are unapologetic about it. They flood social media with their love and affection, visit each other frequently and blush at each other’s mention.
4. Kizito Abbasi and Shadia Bayiga
At first sight, you would agree these two are undeserving of each other.
One is a humble, seemingly down to earth pretty lady engineer and the other is one hell of a guy. Motormouthed and rowdy are words you would use to perfectly describe Kizito Abbasi of Social Sciences.
The former GRC of Social Sciences and Muk Electoral Commission PRO has been dating the Complex Hall chairlady for a longtime now and their love is growing.
5. William Karamagi and Faith
He might have lost the guild race but Karamagi didn’t lose the pretty little thing besides him.
Faith, who could reliably be seen on all guild rallies giving moral support to this man is like him, a 3rd year Psychology student at Makerere.
The former UYD flagbearer is surely in love. He is always heard whispering to his friends that very soon, they’ll be invited for wedding meetings. He is that serious therefore.
Well, as always there are those that are defiant. Some very outstanding student leaders at this university who instead of getting themselves lovers are either living fuckboy lives or stocking numerous bars of soap in their rooms (if you know what we mean).
Next time, we will reveal to you those that have made it a habbit not to commit either in disguise of bachelorhood or just straight up fuckboys.
