Shortly after being nominated by the electoral commission, John Katumba, a Makerere University fresh graduate vowed to defeat unemployment, improve infrastructure as well as other keys issues he believes are lacking.
The 24-year-old presidential candidate told Ugandans that he is the solution to Uganda’s problems. According to Katumba, he is going to solve most problems through negotiations including the growing tribalism in Uganda.
“I thank God and I thank you all for your support because without you all it wouldn’t have happened. One of the things am emphasizing on is having a Uganda that will shine. If others can I think we can also make it” he vowed .
“I will fight what we call unemployment .I am a youth and I know what it means. I know what it means when your parents pay all the money and you end up without job,” he added.
Using “one way” as his slogan, the confident Katumba revealed that he will not speak about change but he will instead be the change.
Katumba has today provided proof to the electoral commission that he has finally paid the UGX 20 million nomination fee following the commission’s failure to nominate him yesterday. The former Makerere student is now warming up to launch his manifesto ahead of the 2021 general elections shortly after nation-wide campaigns.
Katumba’s journey to nominations was yesterday characterized by drama as he was spotted running to the nomination venue in Kyambogo University after his car suffered a puncture in Nakawa.
Katumba has now joined other nominated candidates like President Museveni, Mugisha Muntu, Henry Tumukunde, BobiWine (Kyagulanyi Sentamu) , Patrick Amuriat, among other nominated aspirants.
