The Guild Presidential race at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has been quite a rollercoaster ride, particularly for a one Juma Wasswa Balunywa.
The son to former MUBS Principal, Prof Wasswa Balunywa Sr was today terminated from the race by the Electoral commission, allegedly, due to academic reasons.
However, preliminary sources indicate that there could have been some foul-play, as per some cryptic messages shared by his father seemingly spilling some beans.
Prof Balunywa reportedly (screenshot attached below) blamed his son’s exit from the race on current Ag Principal Prof Muhwezi.
The Bee has also snooped all over Prof Balunywa’s socials and realized that the former Principal has endorsed a ‘FreeJWB’ campaign.
Juma’s disqualification did not sit well with his mammoth of supporters including netizens who started the mentioned rally to seek justice for the renowned contestant.
JWB was among the hopefuls vying for Guild presidency and seemed to be in the front seat.
However, a cloud of uncertainty loomed over his eligibility to contest for the position after it was feared that he got a retake in computing mathematics during his second year of study.
It was today that his run came to an end after the EC undermined his nomination and announced all but him.
