Kabale University Chancellor Prof George Kagonyera has appointed Prof. Benon Basheka as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs.
According to a press statement from the University Vice Chancellor Prof. Joy Kwesiga Constance, the Chancellor has issued Instruments of appointing the three officials upon recommendation by the University Council.
This follows the decision of the University Council meeting where it recommend appointments in the posts after being successful in the interviews by the search committee.
Prior to his appointment, Prof Basheka had been Professor of Governance of Kabale university since 31st August 2019. He also served as the Vice Chancellor of Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) and he formerly worked at Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
Prof Kwesiga says with Prof Basheka’s vast experience, he will help in the steering of Kabale University whose goal is to be one of the finest universities in the great lakes region.
The new Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Basheka replaces Prof Allen Babugura who had been the deputy vice Chancellor academic affairs before she recently retired.
