Before officially being announced Makerere University’s new vice Chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe seems to be gearing up for his term hakuna muchezo. In the latest communication he made through his social media platforms, Prof Nawangwe calls upon all students whose transcripts are delayed with no genuine reason to file a complaint by attaching the officer’s name involved.
He also requested students to address such complaints to the academic registrar, copy him in and guarantees them to receive their transcripts in not more than two days. “I should make this clear that if anyone gets bounced from picking a transcript, lodge a complaint to the academic registrar and copy me please. Include details of the responsible officer/s! For a student to be bounced, there should be a genuine reason and written assurance that they are getting their transcript in not more than two days” Nawangwe noted.
His tough order comes after the University’s announcement that all students that graduated in February this year can officially pick their transcripts except for law schools and engineering who have not yet verified their results.
The incoming vice chanellor attributed the delayed issuance of transcripts to the University’s decision to secure its integrity when it comes to academics.
