Raxio data Center has been recognized for easing Internet connectivity by the ICT parliamentary committee.
During a courtesy visit to Raxio data Centre in Namanve, the Parliamentary committee of Information, Communication Technology and National Guidance applauded Raxio Data Centre for contributing immensely to Uganda’s technology sector.
The visit aimed at reviewing and assessing Raxio Data Centre’s impact on Technology and National Development in Uganda.
The committee that was led by Hon. Nabeta Igeme was guided around the facility by Raxio Uganda’s Vice President of Technology and Operations, Abdul-Rahman Ahmed.
Hon. Nabeta hailed Raxio for promoting internet connectivity in Uganda and helping Uganda fastly progress in technology.
“I want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank Raxio Data Centre for the initiative to invest in Uganda’s technology sector to the tune of 15M USD. I have been to other developed countries with tier 4 data centres; to have such a facility in Uganda that is almost at the same level as those centres is truly impressive and shows how we are progressing as a country as far as technology is concerned,” said Hon. Igeme.
In his remarks, Raxio’s Abdul-Rahman appealed to the government to come and partner with them (Raxio).
Raxio Data Centre in Uganda is a part of the wider Raxio Group that is focused on investing in, building and operating world-class Tier III data centres across Africa.
Through its investments and hands-on approach, Raxio seeks to address the latent demand for critical data centre infrastructure that will drive digital transformation across the region.
Raxio Data Centre – Uganda is a centre-piece of infrastructure supporting the growth and digitalisation of the Ugandan economy as it is the first of its kind in Uganda, operating as a carrier-neutral facility and meeting the international Tier III standard.
