It may be the cold season but with savory ice cream like this, exceptions can surely be made. Most importantly if it’s prices aren’t the horrendous ones from Cafe Javas or Nandos. The cones go for 2000 and the cups 3000/ 5000 shillings each. Pretty fair in exchange for a taste of heaven.
You may have seen Ray’s campus ice cream during MAK hall porridge nights, sport galas, campaign races but more recently the Cultural week in Makerere. It’s owned and run by Makerere’s own student doing law, Raymond Muhekyi.
This ice cream parlor is centered at the Guild canteen right opposite the Senate building in Makerere. It’s the only go to for ice cream cravings and giving into those carbs. This speaks a lot about their business, being able to service with no competition.
It also has another branch at Linda country club, Namugongo road, so if you ever find yourself around that area stop by to get the intensely delicious ice cream. Don’t take my word for it, go get it. Either during cultural week this week, or at the Guild canteen.
