On Thursday, over 50 university students and senior six leavers who have been trained and equipped with comprehensive sexuality education by Reach a Hand Uganda officially graduated each receiving a certificate of participation.
The event that took place at Seven Trees in Kampala, on Thursday was graced by Maggie Kigozi, Joseph Kigozi (C.E.O Buganda Broadcasting Services), parents and Peer Educators from the 2015 class most of whom were awarded for work well done.
Peer Educators that were certified will be distributed to 25 different schools, and attached to different organisations for 7 months mentoring. They will be passing on knowledge acquired to their peers as they are now agents of change, armed with all the vital information to sustain a meaningful peer-peer online and offline conversation on sexuality, sex, motivation and what not.
Dr.Maggie Kigozi vividly stated that although “there is a lot of information, youths are faced with ignorance…they are not given this information” The peer educators will disseminate the information to their peers.
Congratulations to all those that made it.
