The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) today announced the release of the Approved List of Loan Beneficiaries for the Academic year 2016/17. The Board awarded loans to Students admitted for the Undergraduates and Diplomas in various institutions of Higher learning in Uganda (both public and private).
This year the board received a total of 3575 applications through Centenary Bank including 2700 males and 875 females, with the exception of applicants from the districts of Amudat and Kaabong.
For this academic year, 834 applicants representing 70 per cent are male, while 375 applicants, representing 30 percent, are female.
The social and economic conditions of the applicants and their parents, equity, gender and interest expressed through application, are some of the considerations while awarding loans.
