As Makerere University kicks off their five-day 71st graduation ceremony, the university’s office of the Academic Registrar has released the list of graduands for the 71st Graduation Ceremony.
The ceremony, which will be held from Monday 17th to Friday 21st May 2021 will see a total of 12,550 graduands secure degrees and diplomas in their respective courses. During this ceremony, 6,433 (51%) students are female while 6,117 (49%) are male.
Of these, 108 will be conferred upon PhDs; 38 (35.2%) female and 70 (64.8%) male, while 1,160 will be conferred upon Masters degrees; 434 (37.4%) female and 726 (62.6%) male.
It should be recalled that only PhD graduands, Masters’ Degree graduands and first Class Honours Degree Graduands are allowed to go to Makerere University’s Freedom Square to attend the graduation ceremony.
