Wanyera Simon has heightened his political ambitions by declaring his intention to contest in the Law Development Centre (LDC) Guild Presidential race scheduled for this month.
The former 83rd Guild Minister of Academics at Makerere University announced that he would compete for this highly rated political office through a social media post made yesterday morning. He encouraged lawyers to vote for him so as to restore the reputation of LDC.
“Gallant lawyers, the time is now. Let us make the law indeed the law at LDC. The struggle continues,” wrote Wanyera in his Facebook post.
The activist also received encouragement from Makerere students and some of his counterparts from LDC to go on and contest in this race. Most of them described Wanyera as a leader and change factor who could transfer his transformational leadership he exhibited at Makerere to LDC.
Upon leaving Makerere in May this year, Wanyera was admitted for a Diploma in Law (Evening) at the Law Development Centre and began his classes in September this year.
The opponents that Wanyera will face in the Guild presidential election remain unknown at the moment and attempts to reach him to a comment were futile.
