Sadness has once again engulfed the Makerere University community after Kiryowa John Michael, a final year student died in a motorbike accident on Thursday, 10th December.

More information indicates that Kiryowa, who has been pursuing Architecture for the last five years was a Lumumba resident who also doubled as a member of St. Augustine Catholic Community as well as the Arch Community.

His close pals mourn Kiryowa as a down to earth young man who was respected by many. A couple of Makerere University students have died during this lockdown including finalists who were just months away from graduation.

Below is a statement from Makerere’s outgoing Guild President Julius Kateregga regarding Kiryowa’s death;

Rest in Peace Kiryowa John Michael.

Makerere University has today lost a final  year  Student of Architecture. It hurts that after five years  of the Struggle a Colleague  dies as a result  of motor bike accident.
