Renown political mentor Roy Rugumayo has set his eyes at a second attempt to become the president of the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA).
Rugumayo, who previously served as the association’s general secretary, is already touring schools across the country to solicit support for his presidential bid.
Currently a student at Avance International University, the youthful politician was unanimously endorsed as the university’s guild speaker. This position means Rugumayo qualifies to contest the the upcoming UNSA election.
At his first attempt, which he had seemingly succeeded in, Rugumayo was disqualified a few days to the polls over a petition that challenged his student status.
UNSA delegates will go to the polls this December and Rugumayo is leaving no stone unturned in his pursuit for victory.
If he wins, Rugumayo will succeed Okot Francis as head of the 35th UNSA council.
