Former Makerere Guild aspirant Roy Semboga has denied allegations of pressuring Makerere Vice Chancellor,Prof. Dumba Sentamu to declare him Guild president.
This is after an online tabloid claimed to be in possession of a leaked email sent to the Vice Chancellor in which Sembogga demands that he is declared Guild president citing that since the re-election at school of Education was disrupted by his firebrand opponent Bazil Mwotta, it should cease to happen thus making him winner basing on the count from other stations.
However, When Campus Bee spoke to Sembogga, he denied knowing the Vice Chancellors email and explained that it was sabotage from his opponent.
“Mwotta’s team is doing what they do best, creating negative publicity for me.” Sembogga explained.
Mwotta however denied the accusations pointing out that Sembogga should respect the tribunal’s ruling and wait for the re-election at the School of Education.
Makerere University has not had a Guild President since March when Bazil Mwotta Biddemu’s win was challenged by Roy Sembogga. Sembogga cited irregularities at the School of Education where Mwotta comes from and got his highest vote count, giving him a win over Sembogga who had won in most polling stations.
