With its current COVID-19 stand at 243 Positive Cases, 139 Active Cases, 104 Recoveries and zero death, Rwanda’s Office of the Prime Minister Yesterday, 30th April, 2020 relayed what seemed like relaxation of lockdown measures to enable the economy regain some bit of its strength in an official statement of Cabinet Resolutions signed by the Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente.
Key amongst the services that shall resume include; Public Transport within the same province, Individual Sports Activities in open spaces, Hotels and Restaurants to operate up to 7PM, manufacturing and construction sector among others.
However, to the disappointment of most Rwandan Campusers, Universities are to remain closed until September, 2020. With the President of Uganda H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni set to address the nation before the lockdown on some of the measures that shall will be relaxed or tightened, University students wonder whether he will borrow a leaf from the Rwandese government or rather let students go back to school soon.
We will keep you posted on any new developments in this regard.
