The sudden demise of a student affiliated to Kampala International University (KIU) is the latest piece of sad news regarding death around universities in the land.
The deceased was identified as Elvine Sarah Nakayiza pursuing a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health.
She sadly passed on yesterday August 29.
“It is with deep sadness that we received news of the untimely death of one of our Students’ Loan Scheme Beneficiaries, Ms. Elvine Sarah Nakayiza who was in her 1st Year, 2nd Semester, offering a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health at Kampala International University (KIU),” Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) announced.
Sarah is reported to have succumbed to health challenges among which a brain tumor.
HESFB extend condolences to the family, friends, relatives, the KIU Fraternity and the Student’s Loan Scheme Family. According to the HESFB policy, the deceased’s loan shall be written off using the Loan Protection Fund.
Among other deaths reported lately, it was just yesterday that a Makerere University student was reported dead.
