Luyomba Nathan Mark, a Kyambogo University third year student of Mechanical Engineering was on Saturday found dead in his room in Kisenyi, Kyambogo University. Luyomba, who was student number 1800809623, REG.18/U/EME/9623/PE is believed to have committed suicide on Friday, 23rd April 2021.
More reports indicate that the student nipped his life in the bud with a bed sheet as it was found tied around his neck and his body on the bed. The cause of his suicidal act is believed to be personal problems according to the neighbors who haven’t given out much information regarding his death.
Luyomba’s body was on Saturday taken to Mulago Hospital for postmortem as investigation into his death kicked off.
Kyambogo students have called for deeper investigations into his death as many colleagues revealed that it is weird for an Engineer to kill himself by using a bed sheet.
“More investigation should be done, an engineer using a bed sheet for suicide, smells like it was made to look like he hang himself. Anyways may God forgive him in all he did wrong.” A one Angella Namanya asked.
“This is a great loss not only to his family and relatives but also to the county. Tuition problem stresses many poor University students and some end up committing suicide. Please those who are still at campus always try to reach out to such students with socio-psyco support in order to avert such situations from taking place.” Shabamukama Johnson said.
