Isaac Katagwa a third year student at Kampala University, Jinja campus who was pursuing a bachelors degree in Hotel Management, leisure and tourism was shot dead yesterday (4th December 2019) night by a private security guard.
A private security guard attached to Star React Security Guard Limited shot the Kampala University finalist through his back and he died instantly.
It is alleged that the two had arguments over something which prompted the security to shoot Isaac as he was departing.
Police From Jinja CPS was alerted and it reached to the crime scene immediately to find out the cause and also to calm down the situation where the crowd of students and journalists was chased away. The guard was arrested and he is currently detained at Jinja CPS as investigations are going on.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Mortuary of Jinja regional Referral hospital.
