Lawrence Bwambale, a second year student of Mass Communication at Uganda Christian University (UCU) has died after drowning into a swimming pond, family members have confirmed.

It’s reported that Bwambale disappeared from home on December 24, 2016, only for family members to later find his body floating on the pond water.

One close relative has told Campus Bee that they suspect the deceased had gone to swim when the tragic incident happned. Bwambale’s body was yesterday evening laid to rest at his ancestral home in Bwera, Kasese district.

Musumba, a classmate to late Bwambale eulogised: “Lawrence was a selfless friend, a treasure we mostly found incomparable. He will forever live in our hearts. Rest in Peace brother. We are saddened by his death.”

The guild president of UCU Prisca Amongin added:  “My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. It’s such a pity. May His soul rest in eternal peace.”
