Sad! UCU Student Knocked Dead

Uganda Christian University  (UCU) fraternity is mourning the loss of their student, Salatiel Begumisa.

The deceased was a third year student of law before his life was cut short by a speeding taxi.

The accident happened along Jinja Road in the wee hours of Wednesday – 8th March when the late tried to cross the road, near City Shoppers Supermarket in Mukono Town.

The University administration has since made an official statement on the unfortunate happening.

“With great sadness, we inform you of the passing of Salatiel Begumisa, a Bachelor of Law Student with access number A86993. He passed away this morning at 5:15am due to a road accident. He was hit by a vehicle while crossing Jinja road,” the University statement reads.

One of the eye witnesses of the incident, Mr Bwiso James, a boda rider told a national newspaper that the taxi driver drove off immediately after realising what had happened.

He added that since it was still dark, not so many people were present at the scene.

The deceased will be laid to rest in Kanyughunya Kabwe in Kisinga Subcounty, Kasese District.

May the soul of the deceased Rest in eternal Peace.
