The Canary–Sasha saga has entered a far more volatile chapter after Sasha Ferguson launched a fiery response to Canary Mugume’s public statement accusing her of domestic violence.
In a dramatic turn fit for the boldest of tabloids, Sasha — through messages circulating widely on social media — allegedly hit back with a scathing line that sent the internet into a full meltdown:
“If I was beating you why didn’t I stay and beat you properly so that you learn how to handle a pregnant woman.”
The statement, shared in screenshot form by multiple online users, has left Ugandans in disbelief, with reactions swinging between shock, outrage, and unfiltered curiosity.
Sasha’s retort appears to be a direct counterpunch to Canary’s earlier revelation where he claimed he bled from assaults, was a silent victim, and had long endured violence behind closed doors.
But Sasha did not stop there.
In a second circulating message, she reportedly added another pointed jab:
“The main cause of gender based violence is a result of alcohol abuse and as long as one is still in denial.”
The subtext was hard to ignore. Social media detectives immediately interpreted this as Sasha blaming Canary’s alleged drinking for the breakdown of their marriage — and for any violence she claims occurred
Social Media Erupts — Team Sasha vs Team Canary
Within minutes, hashtags and memes flooded X, Facebook, and TikTok.
Some users insisted Sasha was simply defending herself after being “provoked publicly,” while others argued the statement only deepened the mystery of what really went on inside the once-admired Mugume household.
Screenshots circulated at lightning speed, with users dissecting tone, punctuation, and timing like forensic experts
A Love Story Now Defined by Accusations
What began as one of Uganda’s most celebrated media love stories has now spiralled into a highly publicised clash of narratives.
Just days ago:
• Sasha posted emotional stories describing bruises, suffering, and starting life from zero.
• Canary countered with a detailed statement accusing her of physical assault, saying he had evidence of bleeding and had seen his children only once in ten months.
• Sasha has now responded with lines the internet will not forget anytime soon.
