Through its official website, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has officially kicked off the search for the new Chancellor as the expiry date for one Prof. Peter Ndimbirwe Mugyenyi is August this year.
Since its establishment in 1989, MUST has had a total of three Chancellors among which include President Museveni who was its first Chancellor. According to the University’s official statement, the aspiring Chancellor must have five qualities to qualify for the job, be a citizen of the republic of Uganda, be fifty (50) years of age and above at the time of the nomination, be a distinguished professional in the field of Science and Technology, have organizational leadership experience in executive or top management roles in either the public of private sector, have strong public relations with the ability to engage stakeholders nationally and internationally.
All stakeholders and members of the public are allowed to nominate the chancellor of their choice whose applications will be dropped at the University’s main campus or via online submission before 14th July.
Mbarara University of Science and technology has joined the search for its next chancellor in the same period Makerere University is going through the same process as Prof Ddumba Ssentamu’s term expires in August as well.
