Security agencies have recovered a six-year-old boy, Mpirwe Tumwesigye Abraham, who was allegedly kidnapped last week in Kampala, and arrested the suspect involved in the incident.
The child was reported missing on December 12, 2025, after he was allegedly taken from Ddungu Zone in Kawempe Division by Muchunguzi David, a shamba boy employed by the boy’s father, Dr Tumwesigye Emmanuel.
According to preliminary police findings, the suspect left with the child at around 4:00 p.m. and failed to return, prompting the family to report a kidnapping case at Universal Police Post.
Security agencies immediately launched search operations. Investigators later tracked the suspect through analysis of his TikTok videos, which helped establish his movements.
The child was successfully recovered on December 19, 2025, at around 9:30 a.m., from Busukuma in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District.
The suspect has since been arrested and is in custody as investigations continue.
Police said the child will be handed back to his parents after undergoing a medical examination to assess his condition.
Authorities have commended the swift coordination among security agencies and urged the public to report suspicious behaviour promptly to help prevent similar incidents.
