The family and friends Becky Nampijja Kakooza, 24, who was knocked dead by a speeding taxi on Monday while on a boda boda to her place of work painfully narrated the short life of their beloved one. During a requiem mass at Watoto Church, Biira, Becky’s sister, Beth Kakooza tearfully told mourners how generous and sweet her sister was.
“I am going to miss you my sister, you were excited about my pregnancy that you promised me your first salary to look after my baby. It is sad. You have gone without seeing him. In her last days she visited most of her friends she had taken long without seeing,” she said whilst tears rolling from her eyes. The congregation was moved. Others shook their heads with their hands on their cheeks while others were sent to even more tears.
Also, Becky’s mother, Sarah Kakooza described her daughter as God fearing, friendly and kind. She was in the process of building for Becky her own house. “My baby’s death, seemed impossible to grasp, just as it did to the thousands who are here with us. Up to now, I feel like she is going to rise again. Becky, are you going to come back? You have left me with questions,” she added with tears rolling from her eyes.
Becky graduated from MUBS Nakawa in January with a B.A Economics.Five months ago, she did her internship at Ad concepts where she was retained as a full time worker. Burial will take place today at Buloba, Mityana Road.
