Former Makerere University lecturer, Emmanuel Sabiiti, who is accused of ending the lives of his daughters has confessed and admitted to having done the heinous act.

Sabiiti was arrested yesterday from areas of Buhweju district where he had fled after the incident.

The accused made the confession while making a Police statement, confessing to having committed the crimes but said he was provoked by the woman he had been with for about 15 years in marriage.

“I was provoked by the woman. She always told me that the children we have are not mine,” Sabiiti said.

Sabiiti also disclosed that when he retired from Makerere, he wanted to join his woman in the business he had set up for her.

“She denied me access to the business, something that frustrated me,” he further revealed.

However, the spark that led to the regrettable incident is that Sabiiti could not stand the wife’s infidelity.

He stated that the woman had been openly cheating on him for quite sometime.

“One time she lied that the pregnancy was mine yet we had spent over two years without sleeping together,” he added.

Sabiiti later expressed his remorse regarding his actions and resultantly apologized for his grave mistake.
