“She was threatened with rape”- Details of Makerere girl who jumped off Mitchell Hall emerge

The Makerere University female student who fell off Mitchell hall’s third floor has been identified as Brenda Nakyejju, a second year Bachelor of Music, Dance and Drama student. Brenda resides in Cyber hostel an incognito hostel opposite Nakiyingi Hostel in Makerere, Kikoni.

Doctors at Mulago referral hospital tried their best last night and put Nakyejju’s life out of danger. While being rushed to hospital, she, in so much, pain declared to having jumped out of the window on her own after being locked in the room.

Students who escorted her to the hospital say she was speaking and confirmed she jumped “because she had been locked in the room and threatened with rape”. This is the account given by Makerere university chief security officer S.P Mucunguzi Japheth Jeff Jackson.
“We call for CALM and request that people don’t engage in uniformed speculation as the police, who are “already on top of the situation,” Mucunguzi said.
