It was not a normal Tuesday morning for 22-year-old Sheila Gashumba as Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) raided her father’s [Frank Gashumba] house in Bunga. Living in panic and fear, the NTV ‘Style Project’ presenter, in a WhatsApp conversation revealed that over 10 plain clothed armed men had surrounded their house and that she was hiding in her room.
“I am inside the house and the military guys are outside our compound roaming around,” the youthful Slay Queen said, before naively adding that “the men are in military uniform,” only to be corrected by a senior WhatsApp group member that CMI operatives do not wear military uniform during operations.
She later shared CCTV footage of the CMI operatives patrolling their compound.
Frank Gashumba was arrested from the city center on Monday night by operatives from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) for allegedly impersonating a defense ministry official and conning some foreigners.
The operatives later went on to search Gashumba’s residence in Bunga, a city suburb and his Industrial area based offices of Sisimuka Uganda. The defense ministry spokesman, Brigadier Richard Karemire has confirmed the Gashumba’s arrest and the ongoing investigations.
