Frank Gashumba has finally opened up about beating up his daughter and television star Sheila Gashumba. The bitter Gashumba has warned that he will not tolerate any attempts to interfere in the running of his home following social media backlash after Campus Bee reported that the city motor mouthed motivational speaker beat and locked up Sheila in her room for over 12 hours.
“No one is going to run my home. At my home, there is no democracy because no one elected me to be the father of Sheilah. At home, I set the rules and you must abide by them,” the furious Gashumba stated.
Having raised Sheila as a single father, Gashumba added that he raised Sheila after her mother “did every mess and all sorts of wrong things” before he chose to take full care of her by himself.
“I said enough is enough and took care of my daughter, taking her to the best schools. She is now a very successful young girl. There are very few young people who are as successful as she is,” the proud Gashumba spoke highly of his daughter.
Gashumba says despite being a young achiever, Sheila has of late engaged in acts of indiscipline.
“She is disrespectful; comes home late at night … she is becoming another man in my home. I hear rights; children must be respectful to their parents.”
Gashumba explained that a few days ago, Sheilah did not return home as is the custom, a situation that riled him.
“She did not sleep home. She returned home the following day with friends. I am helping her to avoid the company of wrong people who are abusing alcohol and drugs,” charged Gashumba.
Asked to explain if he indeed beat up Sheilah, Mr Gashumba responded: “Yes, when I asked Sheilah to explain why she never returned home, she started telling me stories. Awo empi nezivaayo (I gave her some slaps).”
He said, “If we all raise our kids to become responsible citizens, the entire world benefits from our works. If she became a president, the entire village world would celebrate our success.”
Speaking fondly of Sheilah, Gashumba revealed he had considered “getting counselors to talk to her because I deeply love that girl. I don’t want to see wrong people destroying her.”
It is reported that Sheila Gashumba came back home on Saturday night drunk in the company of her fellow high friends who started abusing Frank Gashumba for mistreating his own daughter, an act that angered the self-styled city motivational speaker before he beat her and locked her inside her room.
Sheila was rescued by cops after her mother alerted the Kabalagala police station that the self-styled Lil Stunner was locked in her room.
