Derrick Karahukayo, a final year student at Makerere University has passed on under very unclear circumstances.
Derro, as he was commonly known, was a common face in the university, a resident of Lumumba hall and hailed from the western Uganda district of Rukungiri.
Initial reports suggested that he collapsed and died while going for a short call while at his home in Rukungiri.
His death hit most of his friends at the university like a blow as some adamantly refused to believe it insisting he couldnt die this soon.
However, they were also quick to eulogise him and show him some love in his absence.
Former Makerere guild president Roy Ssembogga, who was a close friend of the deceased, in a message eulogized thus;
“You always told me that I am the best. You further added that we shall go a long way together, but now you have gone buddy…..I am surely going to miss you.”
Pius Nuwabine, the former Chairman of University hall said,
“My prayers are with your soul; you were such a strong man. May God put you at his side and you find eternal rest. Gone too soon.”
The late will be laid to rest tomorrow in Nyakagyeme, Kagarama, Rukungiri district.
