Our [African] culture has always respected death regardless of who the dead person is or on whether you truly hate the dead person for personal reasons. Death was the final destination to the extent that both young and old held it in high regard thus no one made fun of it.
The advancement of technology, unfortunately, has left people less human or rather insane. I think our collective conscience has finally run out for we have lost most of the values that we held dear- are we human anymore or are just clothed robots?
Earlier today a group of people on the internet started what they are referring to as the ‘Kaweesi challenge’ where they take pictures of themselves in the same position (s) in which the slain AIGP Andrew Kaweesi and his driver Constable Godfrey Wambewa were left in after being shot on Friday.
Patricia Pasha Kitaka reacted; “This ain’t funny one bit. You make fun of someone and tomorrow it’s you.”
Assistant Inspector General of Police [AIGP] Andrew Kaweesi, his bodyguard and driver where gunned down on Friday morning as he was leaving his home to go to Uganda Christian University [UCU] where he was to give a deliver a speech on the topic “Beyond the Transcript.”
May their souls rest in peace.
