Makerere University Journalism and Communication 4th year, Charity Komuhangi who had only months to her graduation has been laid to rest at her ancestral home in Rukungiri.
The Journalism and Communication department together with the University secured a bus for friends, classmates and teachers who travelled to pay their last respects to a beloved comrade. Before setting off, journalism students showed their love by autographing her picture.
“You guys have had a big heart for a fallen colleague. May the Lord bless you abundantly and may Charity R.I.P.” John Baptist Imokola, lecturer of Journalism at Makerere wrote to his students in a WhatsApp group.
Komuhangi who left behind a baby boy met her fate on 11th June when the boda boda on which she was travelling for afternoon prayers collided with a car at Lungujja, Kosovo. She sustained severe injuries on her ribs, broke all her limbs but one and got a swelling on her brain. On 13th June Komuhangi breathed her last at Case clinic, Kampala.
