One could only say the situation is getting worse by the day as the University community was hit with more sorrow upon the receipt of news about the death of one of its students, Namakola Ritah a Mass Communication and Journalism finalist at Uganda Christian University.
Our sources have it that she breathed her last around 9pm Wednesday night. This left nothing but a state of broken heartedness amongst many that knew her.
Our sources close to her friends confirmed that Pneumonia and Ulcers were the cause of death and further noted that she had been sick for a while. This came as a shock to many like one of her OG’s from St. Joseph’s Girls Nsambya only known as Tallie who described the deceased as very calm, humble, kind, sweet and never saw this moment of sadness coming her way.
Our reporter spoke to one of her close friends, a one Doreen who broke down into tears and said the world had just lost one of its most precious jewels.
Personally, I got to know the deceased in Form 3 while both of us were attending a holiday coaching. It’s an understatement to refer to Ritah as angel. She was one of the most caring and sweetest people anyone could have ever known and I must say, her death has left nothing but a hole in our hearts that not even time can fill.
This comes after a rough two weeks that were patronized by various death reports of students in several universities. In an interview with Frank Michael Ogwang the Vice -Guild President of UCU, he said “You can’t know what to expect these days.” as he expressed his dismay concerning the manner in which University students were dying lately.
Our reporters confirmed that the deceased’s vigil shall be conducted today (Thursday) at her Parent’s home in Rubaga-Kabusu. We shall keep you posted on any new developments as regards her burial arrangements.
The team at Campus Bee wishes the deceased a Rest in Eternal Peace.
