Speaker Contributes UGX 5M Towards IUIU’s Run for the Girl Child Education Drive

The Speaker of the 11th Parliament Right Honorable Anita Among has contributed Five Million Shillings to help the needy students at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Females’ Campus.

The speaker made the donation yesterday, during the 1st Edition of the Run for the Girl Child Education organized by IUIU Females’ Campus to raise fees for 352 girls on the Campus.

The 5M UGX cash was delivered by Bugiri Municipality Member of Parliament Honorable Asuman Basalirwa who represented the Speaker at the event.

The special guest at the event was the Managing Director Salaam TV, Hajji Karim Kaliisa who was vital in streaming live the function on Salam TV and promised to help the needy students. Hajji Kaliisa offered 100, 000 UGX pocket money for the next semester to one student, Teddy who was the first among the runners.

Speaking during the event, IUIU Females’ Campus Director Dr. Madina Nabukeera commended the speaker, MP Basilirwa, Hajji Karim Kaliisa, and everyone who helped the institution during the event.
