St. Lawrence School and Colleges is back in the news for all the wrong reasons- again. The latest buzz from Thebes’s Madaka Road based school indicates that police is investigating a teacher for allegedly defiling female students at its Horizon Campus.
“He has recorded a statement and he is going to help us with our investigations’’ officer in charge of Nateete police station said.
The instructor, apart-time history teacher at the school, who has since been suspended from work, denied the accusations labelled against him.
The school administration rushed to call a press briefing to explain the situation when the scandal began circulating amongst students and possibly the media.
The schools’ head teacher, Ms Rose Galabuzi addressed the press noting that they took action after more allegations of the teacher’s conduct were reported by girls asserting that he even gives them his personal number which is not right per the schools’ rules of procedure.
She blamed the victim for failing to report the matter to the school administration complicating the internal investigation.
Teacher blames it on intrigue
While speaking to press at Nateete police station, the teacher blamed his fellow teachers for trying to flash him out the school by fronting such allegations.
“Some of the staff are feeling envious of me because students love me due to my good teaching methods. They are concocting all sorts of stories against me, but the truth will set me free,” he said.
