“Impossible to explain how awesome Papa is, my life got into shape when I joined St Lawrence, he set up his schools, not just for academic excellence but to teach us that wearing white socks everyday was not a measure of your cleanliness but your commitment to keeping them clean everyday of your life.
Papa used to have an assembly every day of the week with a different campus every morning by 7:00am, he used this chance to manage his schools because it’s at these Assemblys that he got all the info he needed, he discovered talent, discovered future leaders, he also used this for his personal entertainment I’m sure. He just knew how to get what he wanted.
While many criticized his buildings for being too fancy, he used this to make us the students proud of our school, yes, we were not SMACK OR GAYAZA but we stood out, we were and I’m still proud to be a Lawrence Product, yes we had a compound Cleaner than the Parliament and it was US who cleaned it. We have maroon polished floors, our walls are white and cream, we have an Appetite shade (London), our walk ways are either cement or tarmac, we were not just a school of nice buildings but one that took hygiene very seriously.
Personally, I dont think I would be who I am today of it wasn’t for St Lawrence, Papa always encouraged me to be a university guild President but I always thought he was just putting me on pressure, he knew your abilities even before you discovered them, with almost 5 schools being managed by one man, I still don’t know how he knew every student individually, he even knew the names of your parents, the class you were in, he liked cute girls and was always in company of at least 3, he always gave girls that prestige, pushed them to be clean and leaders…
It’s impossible to explain how great a man Prof Lawrence Mukiibi is, am not even sad that he is gone, am glad God gave him enough time to create what I hope and pray will live on, he is not gone, Lawrence will live with us FOREVER.
RIP PAPA.”

My Tribute To Professor Lawrence Mukiibi. This morning I have woken up to the saddest news. A phone call from a friend telling me of your death, our dear papa Mr. Lawrence Mukiibi. You were a man of honor and a father who nurtured us all through policies to be O rounds. From teaching us the necessity of carrying two white handkerchiefs and tissue to making sure our hair was held up tight in neat puffs. You challenged us all to work hard so we would appear in the photographs of those who had made the “upper kadas”. You groomed us in every single way possible, academical, socially. and financially. You gave us an opportunity to be more than students which has been evidenced by our lives today.
