Stanbic Bank Uganda today donated more than 15 installed computers to Makerere University Revenue Services Unit (MURSU) to facilitate students’ registration.  The Biller Solution is a secure and enhanced online offering that adheres to the highest standards of service.  This solution is designed to provide real-time reconciliation of fees and payments to the university account.

Online registration will replace the current paper based registration which is tedious, prone to errors and time-consuming for both the students and the university.

Students no longer have to wait for up to one week for their fees to be reconciled on the university accounts before registration can commence.  The reconciliation process was a tedious and time-consuming exercise not to mention the printing costs involved.  For the university, this process was prone to errors, forgeries and created record keeping challenges.  With the Stanbic Bank Biller Solution, students are required to upload their bio data once.  All other processes in future will be automated up to the point when they leave the university.  In a nutshell, a student’s entire journey through the university can be retrieved by a click of a button.

Prof John Ddumba Ssentamu Vice Chancellor, hailed Stanbic Bank for the long-standing relationship that dates back to the 1970s and their continued support towards providing tailor-made solutions in response to the various challenges faced at the university. “The Biller Solution is a timely innovation that will tremendously improve on time utilization for all stakeholders in the value chain because time saved is money saved”. The University is currently faced with problem of updating and reconciliation school payment and this donation will assist the University newly set up Revenue Service Unit to minimize the challenges faced Professor Ddumba said.

He applauded the Management of Stanbic Bank for its continued support by way of maintaining a branch at the University premises and providing financial solutions for both the University as an Institution and the employees.

“With the challenges of a fast growing economy, businesses need robust systems that provide convenience and facilitate efficiency especially in payments and reconciliation to allow focus on growth.   It’s imperative that we seek alternative solutions to meet these needs.  At Stanbic Bank, we aspire to transform the lives and businesses for a better Uganda and these initiatives affirm our commitment to achieving that objective”, said Catherine Asinde, Sector Head Public Sector- Stanbic Bank Uganda.
