There has been a stand off at Kyambogo University’s Tal girl’s hostel after police surrounded the hostel yesterday night in search of a girl’s phone and laptop.
According to residents of Tal girls hostel, police came in late in the night and started searching people’s rooms. No one was allowed to leave the hostel premises last night. Today morning, exit was restricted as those who were heading for lectures were thoroughly checked before leaving hostel.
The girl identified as Nuwagaba Shalloon a second year student doing Bachelors of Management Science claims she had left hostel for campus only to come back when her laptop and phones were missing. This compelled her to call police to intervene and the police are currently tracking and searching the devices.
As we report this, police is still surrounding the hostel, students are in fright because the police has put curfew on them since last night though nothing has been found as yet. No one is allowed to take photos.
