The wait is over — the lineup for this year’s Makerere University Freshers Ball has officially dropped, and it’s packed with some of Uganda’s biggest names in music and entertainment.
The 91st Guild Government has confirmed that the Freshers Ball, set for October 10th at Tear Gas Arena, will feature live performances from Feffe Bussi, Dax Vibez, Ray G, Ritah Dancehall, MC GLLG, and John Blaq, with Erima performing the event’s anthem.
The Freshers Ball is one of Makerere’s most anticipated annual traditions — the official welcome party for new students. It’s where campus life truly begins, with music, fashion, and energy that set the tone for the academic year.
This year’s edition promises to go bigger and louder than ever, bringing together thousands of students, alumni, and fans for a night of nonstop entertainment.
From Feffe Bussi’s explosive rap anthems to Ray G’s soulful western grooves, the lineup is designed to cater to every taste on campus. Rising stars like Ritah Dancehall will add a fiery edge, while Dax Vibez and John Blaq are expected to deliver crowd-favorite hits.

MC GLLG will host the night, keeping the vibes high and the crowd hyped.
The event is powered by major sponsors including PaxTel, Sumz, SafeBoda, NBS Plus, and Next Radio, ensuring a full production experience complete with lights, sound, and stage effects worthy of Uganda’s top music shows.
With just days to go, excitement is already building across campus. Students are flooding social media with countdowns, outfit plans, and dance challenges in anticipation.
As one student put it: “You only get one Freshers Ball — and Makerere never disappoints.”
