NKUMBA: Olympic gold medalist and world athletics champion Mr. Steven Kiprotich was on Thursday stopped from addressing students at the Nkumba University guild open air campaigns.
Kiprotich a younger brother to one of the guild president aspirants Mr. Simon Kiptoo Trikoi arrived late after his brother had addressed the students.
The Nkumba guild constitution doesn’t allow guild aspirants to come or be escorted by any influential figure whether from the political parties they belong to or anywhere since the elections are students’ affairs.
Campus bee caught up with Steven Kiprotich who supported his brothers aspiration’s for the guild presidency.
“I see him as someone who is mature and a capable guild leader and he is my mentee so I give him my full support,” he said.
The 8 guild aspirants include DPs Jonathan Kirumira, FDCs Starford Walusansa, NRMs Mpuuga Enock, Kiptoo Simon, Kemirembe Ronah, Nabatanzi Moreen, Mulegyezi Ivan, and Twesigye Nickson.
The elections are due to take place on Saturday 11th April at the University grounds, Entebbe.
