The Ministry of Education Spokesperson, Dr. Denis Mugimba has come out to tell unvaccinated students to stop giving excuses after they were blocked by some universities from accessing campus premises.
While speaking to KFM, a local radio station, Mugimba revealed that the government made several announcements informing students to get vaccinated from their home towns, adding that they should not give any excuses because the Ministry okayed the institutions move to block unvaccinated scholars, lecturers, and non-teaching staff.
It should be recalled that a number of institutions including Kyambogo University, Kampala University, IUIU, Uganda College of Commerce in Tororo and National Teachers College Kabale blocked students without vaccination cards from accessing their premises.
The students were left stranded outside as their vaccinated colleagues entered with ease. Institutions of higher learning were officially allowed to reopen yesterday, 1st November 2021 following a directive by President Yoweri Museveni to have them resume physical lectures amid the pandemic.
