Hell has broken lose at Kyambogo university after the news getting to the students that the earlier scheduled elections have been postponed.
The guild aspirants were called into a meeting in the Dean’s office to discuss the matter as to why the elections have been postponed. However, a trusted source privy to the details of the meeting has informed this website that the impromptu meeting did not yield any positive results after aspirants failing to agree with the Dean to push elections to tommorow.
Amanya German, the FDC flag bearer angrily stormed out of the Dean’s office ordering students to march to the senate demanding to see the Vice Chancellor Prof Elly Katunguka.
It’s at that moment that a strike ensued, windows are being broken as stones are being hurled at police officers. The forced the police officers to fire rubbber bullets and tear gas in the air.
A resolution hasn’t been reached at and no official communication has been aired out by the university to the students fraternity. Tension at the university remains high as students are not relenting- demanding the EC to conduct elections today.
”We have prepared enough and we want to vote today. We demand explanation as to why we can’t vote now,” a demonstrator bellowed.
