A masters students at Mbale’s Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) has dragged the university to court over denial to an examination.
The student who has been identified as Isaac Nabende pursuing a master’s degree in business administration wants the university to pay him Shs 350m for breach of contract and Shs35m for costs .
It is confirmed that Nabende was admitted to the university in May 2016 , fully cleared his tuition and was given an examination card which he used to do his first examination of marketing management on November 29.
However when he appeared on November 20, for his second examination of financial accounting, he was removed from the examination room on allegation that his identity card did not have a string attached and therefore he was not legible to sit for the examination.
It’s on such grounds that the student through his lead petitioner Mr Awor and company Advocates dragged the university to High court in Mbale over denying him examinations, stating that it’s illegal for the university to deny him an examination over merely lacking a string attached to his identity card yet he fully paid his tuition.
