The academic registrar of Makerere University has released results of the students that applied for Mature Age Entry. The pre-entry exams were sat last year in December.
Only 309 students passed the exams out of the total 746 that sat last year. 437 failed to get the pass mark of 50% to qualify to undertake an academic program at the university. The students who did the pre-entry exams applied for science and arts courses, however, those that sat the former performed better than the students who applied for arts courses.
510 students sat the science exams, only 238 passed. Out of the 236 that sat the arts exams, only 71 passed.
These students will be expected to report in the academic year 2018/2019, which will start around August this year.
