Members of the student guild particularly GRC elects held a meeting today following the continued strike by non teaching staff at the prestigious Makerere University.
According to the resolutions made in the meeting, if the crises continues until today evening, the University Management will have to push the commencement of End of semester examinations so as to accommodate the days that the student body would have been denied by default to access libraries, consult lecturers, process examination permits and access lecture rooms for tutorials among others.
The strike has greatly inconvenienced the students towards the examination period.
It was resolved that lectures must commence immediately and if there’s no solution to this crisis as soon as possible, there will be a match by the students to the Prime Ministers Office on the morning of 4th may Wednesday.
This is an endeavor and an assurance to the government about its failure to execute the President’s alleged executive order issued on September 3rd , 2015 to the minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development on salary enhancement for non teaching staff of public Universities.
